Me pretending to pilot a ship in northern British Columbia.

ABOUT ME

Fantasy writer, history enthusiast, law nerd, and occasional adventurer.*

*Not qualified to steer a ship.

I studied Journalism and Political Science at Carleton University and law at McGill University, which kept me away from my first love – fiction writing – long enough to earn some job prospects. In my writing, I enjoy creating flawed characters, found families, and complex worlds filled with magic and wit.

My first novel, Keeper of Forgotten Songs, is a young adult high fantasy novel with crossover appeal about the last student of an ancient magical order who disguises herself as a boy to investigate the death of her mentor at a university in the heart of a vast empire. Keeper of Forgotten Songs was born during a trip to Rome and the ruins of Pompeii, which sparked several years of learning about the ancient world. Keeper of Forgotten Songs has not yet been published.

I live in Vancouver, Canada.
